Design

Contracts & Specifications (C&S)
C&S maintains constuction standards and specifications, prequalifies contractors, prepares construction bid advertisements, receives bids from contractors and submits recommendations to the State Transportation Board for award of the contract.

Engineering Consultants Section (ECS)
ECS administers roadway design consultant contracts, including the prequalification of consultants and the advertising and awarding of design contracts.

Five Year Construction Program
Of particular importance to ITD is the Five-Year Transportation Facilities Construction Program for Highways and Airports, which identifies the highway projects programmed for each of the five ensuing fiscal years. 

Program & Project Management Section (PPMS)
Overall, PPMS is cooperatively responsible for information management regarding the program's scheduling, resources, and budget.  Our section coordinates with Project Management teams to create critical path schedules for programmed projects.  PPMS collects, updates, and reports on project data and scheduling information (Advertisement dates, project cost, milestone dates, etc.).  It is our job to monitor project scope and budget changes as well as schedule data. Our responsibility to report to management teams the status of projects is essential to proper planning and maintenance of projects in pre-design, design, and construction.

Regional Freeway System (RFS)
The Regional Freeway System Office provides relevant and updated program, schedule and graphical information concerning the Regional Freeway System on the Internet. Working cooperatively with our customers which include Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG), the Legislature, local jurisdictions, other ADOT sections and interested parties in the MAG Region.
